+Things to Do

welcome to
Westerly

Welcome to coastal Westerly, one or Rhode Island’s best kept secrets tucked into the Southwest corner of the state along the Connecticut border.  Westerly consists of a number of small villages, offering everything from the quiet elegance of an evening in Watch Hill to the thrills and exciting action of Misquamicut.  Westerly boasts seven miles of sandy white beaches, including Misquamicut and Westerly Town Beaches as well as several smaller, private beaches.

Golf courses, including the exclusive Shelter Harbor Golf Club, abound as do full service marinas for the boating elite.  Rich with history, Westerly was named in 2002 as one of the 12 most distinctive destinations in the country by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Home to the oldest functioning carousel in the country, Westerly is a delightful coastal community and easily accessible via the Westerly Airport.
