Penguin Plunge 2010

January 18th, 2010 Judy Chace Coastal Rhode Island Real Estate Penguin Plunge 2010

Well, it’s happened again. Another 500 crazy Rhode Islanders descended upon poor little Jamestown for a morning of insanity and merriment. That’s right, Penguin Plunge 2010 came and went as it has done in so many years past, with a bang.

For those who don’t know, the Penguin Plunge is an annual New Year’s Day fund raiser to support Special Olympics of Rhode Island. Every year participants con friends and relatives into giving them pledges, issuing sob stories about braving the frigid Mackerel Cove waters on a weary and bleary winter’s morn. How these fools (mine in particular) continue to fall for such stories I do not know. The fact of the matter is, that the Penguin Plunge is one of the best times to be had anywhere in the state, any time of the year.

Really though, it is a tremendously rewarding experience. Generating any support for such a wonderful organization as the Special Olympics is so important. For more information on how you can contribute, please visit www.specialolympicsri.org

I hope you will join us next year, and make the 35th Penguin Plunge the best ever.
